Cambuslang Rangers 3 Lugar 1
Lugar went into this game looking to recover from the previous weeks drubbing by taking on a Wee Gers side that hadn’t won a game in their last 22. The Boswell were obviously not over that result and put in a very lacklustre performance. Cambuslang took the lead in the 19th minute, McAdam was allowed a free run in on goal and his shot took a deflection which fell kindly for Faulds who set the ball up perfectly to drive past Stuart Leavy. In the 32nd minute, Cambuslang doubled their lead after Faulds drove a low ball into the Lugar area.
Lugar managed to get back into this game 10 minutes after the restart when substitute Alex Duffy pounced on a loose ball in the Lang goalmouth area and he slid the ball home. This faint glimmer of hope was quickly extinguished however as on their next attack Cambuslang restored their two goal advantage. Darren McMahon failed to make an easy clearance and only succeeded in stopping the ball for McKinnon who slammed the ball home to finish the scoring at 3-1. Once again Lugar let themselves down with a poor display and if they are harbouring any hope of surviving the dreaded drop they will need to get back to playing the sort of football we all know they are capable of. Indeed Lugar will now need to treat each game as a cup final and that starts on Saturday against fellow strugglers Dunipace.
